This section of the Bachmann HO-scale Trains
Resource is devoted to the company's Accessories and Kits. It is intended for use by the mildly curious to serious collector.
Information presented is taken from catalogs and products produced by Bachmann for the HO-scale model railroad market.
Bachmann
first entered the HO-scale train market in 1970 and continues today. The focus of this site is the Bachmann HO-scale Accessories
and Kits of the 1970s and '80s.
Bachmann's first year with a full line of HO-scale model trains was 1970. Prior to '70, Bachmann's
line consisted of only the Plasticville U.S.A. building kits. With the 1970 catalog, Bachmann introduces HO-scale locomotives,
rolling stock, train sets, track, and power packs. The 1970 catalog's page of accessories includes brass track and turnouts,
a pair of power packs and two simple re-railers.
The 1971 catalog expands with a few additional pieces, inlcuding a first appearance of a 47-piece Over and Under Pier Set
(No. 1732).
