It has been called, "the birth of modern models." In the middle 1980s,
Atlas began offering a collection of Alco locomotives produced by Kato in Japan. This group raised the bar for the industry.
This new website will let you see these Atlas models, beginning with the
1984 release of the RS-3 and continuing into the early 1990s with the final Kato-made Atlas model, the GP7.
Also included in the Atlas 1980s HO-scale Trains Resource will be the Roco
made Also S-switchers and the modified re-issues of the GP38; GP40; and FP7 models.
The site will feature Parts Diagrams; Stock Numbers and Release Dates; Advertising Reproductions; plus
notes on competitor's similar offerings.
