TYCOKITS Contemporary Series Kits

At a time when the train line was shrinking, TYCO introduces a very popular line of HO-scale buildings. This 'Contemporary Series' set of kits was first seen in 1986 with Pizza Hut, Burger King, 7-Eleven, and the 7UP Plant. The 1987 TYCO catalog adds Baskin Robbins. The Baskin Robbins and 7-Eleven share the same basic construction elements, though the other kits are all unique.

The "B" suffix added to these kit numbers represents an example that included a lighting kit.  In addition to the letter added to the stock number, offerings that had the lighting kit included a mention of such on the package face.

By 1990, these kits are no longer listed in TYCO's catalogs. Collectors simply looking for these buildings can also obtain them from AHM's offering, see note at bottom of this page.

TYCO catalogs a 7-Eleven store in the Contemporary Series of kits for the years 1986 through 1988.  To date, no examples have surfaced of this TYCOKIT and it is thought not to exist.  The stock number 7726 is the kit's original offering; TYCO added a free light kit to many offerings in the '80s and this was one of them and thus also has the "B" added stock number to note a kit with the lighting bonus.
