Disneyland Train Sets

Based on the Disneyland theme park's Santa Fe & Disneyland R.R., TYCO introduced HO-scale Disney trains to its 1966 line.  Like the CBS-TV series "Petticoat Junction" inspired sets, the TYCO Disneyland sets only get cataloged for two years in 1966 and again in 1967.  TYCO produced essentially one set consist and with the option of a power pack and then a name change for its second year, there are four differently labeled sets that all closely match each other's contents.

The Disneylander
(No.T6611)
(No.T6711)

This set retains the same name, The Disneylander, for both years it appears in TYCO catalogs.  It does change stock numbers though, begin the T6611 in 1966 and then T6711 in 1967.

This set featured TYCO's Ten-Wheeler 4-6-0 Steam Loco and Tender lettered for the Santa Fe & Disneyland R.R. and carrying the name E.G. Marsh on the loco's cab.  The catalog notes that the set also included an interchangeable straight stack for the locomotive.  Rolling stock included two 1860-series freight cars, the Water Car and Horse Car, both lettered for S.F.& D.  Also included were three 1890-series Clerestory-roofed passenger cars, a Combine and two Coaches, again lettered for the Santa Fe & Disneyland R.R. The set included enough track to make a 45" x 36" oval.

The same set as sold under the name The Disneyland Special (No.T6626), but minus the TYCO-Pak.

The Disneyland Special
